Things we do

Things we do

  • Wash our hands sensibly.|
  • Line up quietly.|
  • Walk into the dining room without talking.|
  • When we have permission to talk in the dining hall, we use our ‘quiet’ voice and talk quietly to people on our table.|
  • We put our hand up when we need help or want to leave the dining hall.|
  • We tidy up our mess.|
  • If our school has a Buddy system, we leave the dining hall with a Buddy.|
  • Help the younger children on the table.|
  • Remember our table manners.|
  • Use our knife and fork and spoons (except for say, bread, cakes or biscuits).|
  • Have pride in our dining room and look after the furniture and plates.|
  • Keep our legs under the table and feet on the floor.|
  • Watch where we are going as we move around the dining room.|
  • If you do not have an allocated seat, we wait (patiently) by the door until the teacher on duty can find you a space.|
  • Put our rubbish and unwanted food into the right bin.|
  • We scrape our trays carefully.|
  • Stack our trays neatly and tidily.|
  • Try our best not to make a mess.|
  • We eat our lunch and salad first, before having dessert.|
  • We try and eat with our mouth closed.|
  • If we have a packed lunch we take all our rubbish home.|
  • Clear away completely after yourself and walk straight out into the playground.|
  • Cash Café pupils, collect your full lunch, and pay at the till (up to two desserts and two drinks only with your lunch)|
